Crowborough War Memorial Hospital
The Hospital Trust contracted Chroma as main contractor to undertake external planned maintenance work to Crowborough War Memorial Hospital. These works included repairs to roofing and external joinery; re-pointing of brickwork; renewal of polycarbonate roofing and complete external redecoration to all buildings on the site. The works were delivered on time and to budget, and to the Clients entire satisfaction.
Homelees House is a large residential retirement home in Brighton. The Client entrusted us with their building which was built in the 1980s. There were ugly rust stains from metal beading to all the window surrounds. Chroma cut out all window reveals and removed the rusty metalwork. We then re-rendered around all windows and carried out a complete external redecoration of previously painted surfaces.
The Van Alen Building, Brighton
The Van Alen occupies a prominent position on Brighton Seafront and overlooks the Palace Pier. This is a highly exposed location and since the building was built the walls gradually became stained and soiled. Chroma were contracted to carry out external repairs and a full redecoration to all elevations of the building. The transformation was stunning and the building was totally rejuvenated.

Sovereign Court, Brighton Marina
Over the past three years we have undertaken a number of redecoration projects as well as various small maintenance projects at Brighton Marina. We have recently completed redecorations and repairs to two blocks of flats each containing 85 dwellings. Sovereign Court and Neptune Court are four storey buildings and have long elevations facing the Sea. The location is very exposed and is subject to the full force of the prevailing winds. Consequently regular maintenance and redecoration is absolutely essential. The location also benefits in the summer when the atmosphere is more akin to the Mediterranean than the English Channel!
Neptune Court, Brighton Marina
Wavel Place is a social housing development in Sydenham comprising of five blocks of three storey buildings. Chroma carried out redecorations to the external elevations and internal redecorations to the commonways. There was extensive repairs to the balconies where the handrails were in an advanced state of decay. The handrails were replaced with new treated timber and redecorations were completed.
The Priory is an eight storey block of flats situated on Hove seafront. The location takes the full force of prevailing winds, and the brick facades were badly eroded. Chroma were contracted to cut out and replace hundreds of bricks, and to completely re-point the brick elevations. Other maintenance was carried out whilst the scaffolding was in place including the renewal of mastic sealant; repairs to timber and redecorations.
